No, there is no limit on the number of requests that you can post on our site. If you have a bunch of jobs that need to get done - post as many job requests as you need.
However, you only need to post one job request per job you need done. If you keep your job request 'public,' we'll automatically notify everyone in your area who can do that job. You can contact a number of people privately if you'd like, but it'd be quicker for us to contact everyone for you. We also limit the number of people you can contact within 24 hours to 5 people (this is to prevent spammers). We can notify dozens on your behalf if necessary without running into that 5-person limit.
When i signed up in June 2011 there were no fees for service providers or you could pay a fee once you booked customers. Now it looks like i have to pay a fee just to talk to a customer "lead" which over time it could cost too much money prospecting for business? Why the changes?
At least Lenny got someone to respond to his comment on here. I have e-mailed Thumbtack THREE different times with questions about fees, and they have ignored all my messages and have not even given me the courtesy of a response! I think that's a little rude and unappreciative because there wouldn't be a Thumbtack without us, the service providers. All I wanted to know was what my options were when paying for leads. I don't really think that's too much for a valued member to ask. Now that I found this forum, maybe I can finally get the answers that I need, but it would have been nice to get an answer from the help team when I asked for it.

Hi Alesia,
I just checked, and I see that we have responded to you within a couple hours each of the three times you sent us an email.
Can you please check your spam folder to see if our messages were sent to your spam folder? I'm guessing that's what happened here.

Okay if this is the case then why was an attempt to charge a fee just put on me by Thumbtack for a lead?!
There are no fees for consumers (i.e. people looking to hire professionals). There are some fees for service professionals (i.e. people offering their services). You can read about those here: http://thumbtack.zendesk.com/entries/21067673-what-are-the-fees-for-responding-to-leads-on-thumbtack
The best website !
Heather, Is a limit on how many requests to different service professionals a consumer can make?
