This feature would allow you to post your service in more location. Maybe you're an agency and have offices in multiple cities throughout a state. Maybe you spend time in two different locations throughout the year. Whatever your situation - let us know if you'd like this feature.
Just so you know - the main problem we have with this is spammers. It would be easy to spam our site if we allowed anyone to post in as many locations as possible.
One idea is to charge to list your service in multiple locations (which would presumably reduce spammers). What would you think of that? Any other ideas?

I like this... I would just hope it wouldn't be abused by the "internet only" businesses who are literally everywhere :/
Maybe limit this feature to businesses who have a legitimate *physical* presence in each city.
I would this too. I have several locations and would like to offer the same ad in multiple locations, but I agree that it should be regulated so that someone cannot spam the site.
I have a business in Old Bridge, NJ, but I service several towns and counties. I also have had some business from NY and NYC. Although my physical address is in Old Bridge, I still need to advertise in other areas. If you could set a radius like up to 20 or 25 miles from the physical location and then charge for additional towns, or counties to be listed it would allow businesses like mine to advertise cost effectively, but would probably deter the "Internet only" guys who want everything for free. http://www.wesitpets.com - Pets Rule!
Yes that would be a good idea for businesses to be able to have their listing displayed in more than just one city. Having a "Statewide" Listing would be a good option where a vendor who is available for service in all of the major cities in a particular state would have the option to be displayed Statewide. Another option could be a "Regional" listing which could cover designated areas like "SE USA", "SW USA", "NE USA", "NW USA". When a particular region is selected it could have a detailed list of states in that region shown in parenthesis, for example SE USA could say SE USA (Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, Alabama, South Carolina, Mississippi), etc. NE USA might say NE USA (New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia) etc. This option could get cluttered as more and more vendors start to get listed unless it was done exclusively on a "PAID UPGRADE BASIS ONLY", where only those that paid an extra pre-determined fee would be listed in those areas or they could be listed at the Top of the page above the FREE listings.
Our customers range accross the US. It would be good to have extended exposure. Would willingly pay for extended area upgrade.
Great feature.
My business is 100% mobile. We are statewide although we do have a verified address/physical location. This feature would really help us to advertise within our market and grow. Perhaps only businesses with verifiable licenses should qualify to use this feature or companies that have accomplished all of the Thumbtack verification steps.
I have multiple physical business locations throughout South Carolina. It would be nice to be able to list them all on my listing instead of just the main office. Thanks a lot! http://mmtaxservice.com
you definitely need this feature.
Yes! Yes! Yes! Our marketing target is the entire US. Just being able to reach the few large cities in Nebraska would be an advantage.
I am based in one location, but often travel for a week at a time, and it would be great to be able to add those locations to my main listing with a calendar to coordinate where/when I'm going to be offering my services.
I have a few locations and one of them is international and it would be of great interest to me if I could list my international studios.
Thank you,
KEN
We provide services to customers nationwide, and our vendors are nationwide.
It would bee nice even it I could just post my single thumbtack service listing one more than one Craigslist sight. I live right between Denver and Boulder however Craigslist will only let you post in one of the two cities :(
This would be a great feature. I am a clinical massage therapist who works from two studios in different cities. It would improve my visibility if people could find me by looking in either city's listing. I also make house calls in several other local cities, so this feature would help me advertise my services there.
My problem is not so much being able to post in multiple locations, but preventing Thumbtack from falsely listing me in locations where I cannot be available.
I offer tutoring services literally ALL OVER Long Island (from Maspeth to Montauk; from Great Neck to Greenport; etc.), but thumbtack erroneously lists me as being available in Bridgeport and other Connecticut areas -- which are over 100 miles distant, each way! This is harmful and damaging to my reputation, but Thumbtack persists in these erroneous listings, despite my repeated complaints.
Adding insult to injury, I just now received a notice stating: "Congratulations! Your service listing "Academic Tutoring & Test Preparation" is ranked #1 among math tutors in Bridgeport."
Hi Bruce - Sorry about that, and thanks for letting us know. We recently added a feature that allows us to manually remove Long Island residents from the Connecticut pages - we have removed your listing from the Bridgeport page.
Thanks again for notifying us!
I agree with the idea of a maybe a certain geographic range. As someone who travels to my customer for work within thier homes and businesses there are probably 10 cities I could list myself in for a range of only 20 to 25 miles from my own location where I legitimately provide service. Love this site so far and continued improvements seem to keep coming along! Great job.
I have a freelance illustration business that makes it easy to do projects with clients all over the country, and the world for that matter, from my own home. It would be nice if you had a way to let potential customers who are located anywhere know about my services. I am afraid that there aren't enough potential clients in my area to make Thumbtack truly useful to me.
Hi Liz,
Potential customers will know about you if you click on the 'Over phone or internet' travel preference in your profile settings.
If that preference is checked, you will appear in search results all over the country.
Hope this helps!

I really need this for our business. We have multiple services areas and utilize the same website and social media pages for every area. Is there anyway to have all the addresses default?
Well there is one reason that multiple locations would NOT be a good idea... if you are utilizing the craigslist posting reminders...
Multiple locations are against craigslist Terms of Service and might get us banned from posting again. Even though I said yes before... I'd rather be able to use craigslist... so a big resounding NO from me -- unless those that opt to use multiple locations on Thumbtack are restricted to using one location for craigslist.
Love the idea of being listed in other locations. I am a psychic, a medium and an energy healer and do most of my work by phone nationally, even internationally. This one-location only situation is what puts me off about Craig's List. I like FaceBook because I can connect with people anywhere with a computer and internet service.
I am an on-site computer services company and offer my services in 2 different cities and multiple towns however, my office address and town is the only thing I can list. I would love to be able to specify the area that I service. This is preventing me from showing up in the areas I need to.
I’m a DJ and I work in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and New Hampshire during the summer; in the winter time, I now work out of Fort Myers and Naples FL. We recently purchased a home in Florida in order to do this. The ads in MA and FL may be similar, but not always exactly the same. In Florida, we reach out to the senior population (55+ communities); in the Northeast, we reach out to a broader and more varied customer base.
Thus, if we were able to write two or three different ads, it would be very helpful. thanks
